Edmonton Opera Refund and Exchange Policy 

We understand that plans can change. Here's everything you need to know about exchanging your tickets or requesting a refund. 

Refund Policy 

Refunds will not be offered.  

Exchanges 

Season Subscribers 

  • Exchanges are free for subscribers, as long as they choose a seat in the same price category. 

Single Ticket Buyers 

  • Exchanges are available for a $5 fee per transaction (not per ticket).   

  • Exchange Guidelines

    • Exchanges must be requested at least 48 hours before the performance. 

    • Tickets may be exchanged for: 

      • A different performance date of the same production. 

      • A performance of a different production in the same season. 

      • A tax receipt for the ticket value if no suitable date is available. 

  • Price Differences 

    • If you exchange for a lower-priced performance, a tax receipt will be issued for any difference of $20 or more. 

    • If you exchange for a higher-priced performance, the difference will be charged at the time of exchange. 

What to Expect During an Exchange 

  • Your original tickets will be voided once the exchange is processed. Please do not attempt to use them for admission. 

  • Bring your original tickets to the Will Call table on the night of your new performance to collect your new ones. 

  • No ID is required to pick up exchanged tickets.

How can I contact the box office? 

By phone (780.429.1000), by email (boxoffice@edmontonopera.com) or visit us in person at the Edmonton Opera Office, located at 102-11442 168 St NW. In-person box office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday. Friday from 9:30am–2:30pm. Our regular phone hours are 9:30am–5pm, Monday–Friday. We are closed on weekends and statutory holidays. 

When will I receive my tickets?  

Season tickets are mailed out in mid-September. Single tickets are sent instantly by email after your order is placed with an e-ticket attached. If you opt for a mailed ticket, these are sent out weekly and take approximately 3-5 business days to arrive. Note: Tickets ordered less than 14 days prior to the performance will be held at the box office for pickup at the Jubilee on the night of the performance. 

I have lost/not received my tickets, what do I do? 

Please call our box office to verify that we have received your order. If we have your order on file, we will be able to reprint or resend your tickets to your email. 

What are season tickets? 

Season tickets are a package that includes a ticket to all our mainstage productions in the season. You pick the performance day and the seating zone and can save up to 20% compared to single ticket pricing. Season ticket holder benefits include free exchanges, lower prices, and other special offers. 

How do I become a season ticket holder? 

You can visit us online, at the box office in person or call us at 780.429.1000 for our current season. 

Can I buy a gift certificate for Edmonton Opera? 

Absolutely! You may purchase a gift card for any amount which will be valid towards the purchase of opera tickets. Gift certificates can be purchased online and by calling or visiting the box office. 

Do you have any special offers? 

We have a few special offers for single ticket purchases. If you are under 21, you can see an opera for free (as long as supplies last) with our Youth for Free program. We also offer a 10% Adventurer discount on single tickets for adults between 22-35 and seniors (65+). The best offer is buying a season ticket package, which can save you up to 20% off single ticket prices. 

Can I bring children to the opera? 

Children 5 years & up are welcome to attend, however please be advised that most operas deal with mature themes. You may contact our box office if you have questions about the suitability of a particular opera. Some venues (such as the Jubilee Auditorium and Winspear Centre) do not allow babies-in-arms and children under 5 in to their performances.
